Cross Focused Reviews provided me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
What a beautiful story of suffering and faith. This book would be a great addition to any young person’s shelf. Although it could use more explanation on what the Catholic faith is (since many young readers may not quite understand the context of this), Simonetta Carr does a great job of describing the hardships that Christians had at this time in French history. She offers a lot of information about this revolution, as well as telling the stories of many, not just Marie Durand. I think this is a wonderful and convicting look into what hardships the Christian life can entail, but also a God-honoring way of handling it. This would be a great supplement to the book of Acts and the missions of the Apostle Paul. I would highly recommend this book.
